Work on the C&C tools began at the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics, where Steve was employed on Mark Steedman's EPSRC grant GR/M96889, James was a PhD student funded by a Commonwealth scholarship and a Sydney University travelling scholarship, and Johan was a Research Associate working on various projects in Computational Semantics. We are immensely grateful to Mark for the advice and guidance he gave us during that time, and for the freedom he allowed Steve in working on this software. The parser could not have been built without Julia Hockenmaier's CCGbank, and we thank Julia for generously sharing this resource, given the large amount of time and effort it took to create it. We also thank John Carroll and co-developers for allowing us to distribute the morphological tool morpha as part of the C&C tools. James' research at Sydney has been supported by the Australian Research Council under Discovery Project DP0453131.
